Division: Electrical & Construction — Power & Energy

Location: Northern California (Vacaville, Solano County, and surrounding areas)

Scope: Residential standby generator installation, concrete pad preparation, automatic transfer switch, battery storage integration

For homeowners across Northern California, power reliability isn't optional — it's essential. PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff events, seasonal storms, and aging grid infrastructure have made standby generator systems one of the most requested services Legacy 1 Corporation receives.

Over the course of multiple residential installations, Legacy 1 Corp's Power & Energy team deployed both Generac and Cummings standby generator systems for homeowners who needed dependable backup power without the complexity of managing multiple contractors.

The Challenge

Each residential client faced the same core problem: no infrastructure existed to support a standby generator. That meant no concrete pad, no transfer switch, no utility-compliant connection point, and in some cases, no electrical panel capacity to support the added load. Coordinating separate contractors for concrete work, electrical, and generator startup created scheduling gaps and accountability gaps that most homeowners wanted to avoid.

The Legacy 1 Corp Approach

Legacy 1 Corp handled every phase under a single contract. For each installation, the team began with a load analysis to determine the appropriate generator size for the home's critical circuits — typically covering HVAC, refrigeration, lighting, and select outlets. From there, the process followed a consistent sequence:

Concrete pad formed and poured to manufacturer spec. Fuel line coordination with the client's gas utility or propane provider. Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) installation at the main panel. Generator placement, wiring, and startup commissioning. Where clients requested it, battery storage systems were integrated alongside the generator to provide silent, emissions-free backup during shorter outages and to reduce generator runtime during extended events.

Brands Installed

Legacy 1 Corp installs both Generac and Cummings standby generators, selected based on the client's power requirements, budget, and fuel availability. Generac systems are well-suited for whole-home residential applications and offer strong parts availability throughout Northern California. Cummings systems are preferred for higher-demand applications or clients seeking commercial-grade reliability in a residential setting.

Outcome

Every installation was completed permitted and inspected through the local jurisdiction. Clients received a fully operational standby generator system with automatic failover — no manual startup required. Several clients have since experienced PSPS outage events with no impact to their home operations. Multiple clients from these installations have returned to Legacy 1 Corp for additional electrical and solar projects, citing the clean workmanship and single-contractor coordination as primary reasons.

Legacy 1 Corp provides generator installation, service, and maintenance for residential and commercial properties across Vacaville, Fairfield, Dixon, Sacramento, Solano County, and greater Northern California. Contact us at (707) 474-4800 or info@legacy1corp.com.
